Station Master

As a Station Master, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the mild to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and various autism friendly strategies (e.g. Work system, token reward system), through interaction with friends from Hope Of The Journey (parents support group for ASD). You will assist in facilitating various fun activities for our friends with ASD and give them a memorable and joyful day. 

Commitment required for this event will be on the event day, 18th March 2017, Saturday, from 9.00AM to 11:00AM. No prior experience is required, just an open heart and mind. Briefing will be conducted on 5th March 2017, 9:00AM - 1:00PM

Volunteer Befriender

As a Volunteer Befriender, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the mild to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and various autism friendly strategies (e.g. Work system, token reward system), though interaction with friends from Hope Of The Journey (parents support group for ASD). You will partner children or teenagers with ASD to work together on a 1-to-1 pairing to participate in various fun activities give them a memorable and joyful day. 

Commitment required for this event will be on the event day, 18th March 2017, Saturday, from 9.00AM to 11:00AM. No prior experience is required, just an open heart and mind. Briefing will be conducted on 5th March 2017, 9:00AM - 1:00PM

First Aider

Closing date: 16 Feb 2017
Number of sessions: 1

As a First Aider / Floater, you will have the opportunity to utilise your first aid skills and knowledge. During the programme and your roles, you will also learn more about the mild to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and various autism friendly strategies (e.g. visual aids, work schedule, etc.) though interaction with friends from Hope Of The Journey (parents support group for ASD). As a first aider, you will also float around the event to ensure safety, to look out for dangers and prevent any risk from happening (e.g. children who runs out of the place, prompt them to follow through rules and programme). You will also attend to any possible injuries. 

Commitment required for this event will be on the event day, 18th March 2017, Saturday, from 9.00AM to 11:00AM. Volunteer training for this event is not required for this role. 

On the other hand, a valid First Aid Certification is required and piror experience in the field of ASD is preferred. Most importantly, do come with an open mind.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
