Are you someone who is passionate about food and welfare? If yes, we warmly welcome you to join us to be part of the rainbow wheel to bring the seniors to various “makan” places in Singapore!

We will be bringing the seniors of Thong Teck Home for Senior Citizens out for a meal at least once a month, either on a Saturday or Sunday morning (half-day). This will be a great experience for all!

Your role as a Volunteer Befriender includes:

1.    Be a pair of listening ears to the seniors.

2.    Encourage active participation of the seniors.

3.    Ensure safety of the seniors.

4.    Bring the seniors out to several local eating places.

Interested volunteers need to be able to commit to the following requirements:

1)    It is a 12-month initiative; volunteers are expected to attend at least 75% of it. Attendance will be taken at each session.

2)    Two volunteers will be attached to one senior when they are out for lunch. All lunch expenses will be borne by the volunteers.

Due to the nature of the event, the exact reporting time and location will be advised nearer the date.

The first session will be held on 30th July 2016 at Thong Teck Home For Senior Citizens from 9am to 1pm.

The subsequent event will be informed via email or Whatapps.
