How far would you go for a good cause?  Take up the challenge and get physical! Sport your running shoes and stride alongside Singapore’s Blade Runner, MD Shariff Abdullah Peters, as he races across the island for chronically ill children.

 

Our Miles for Good Runs are engagement runs conducted to raise awareness for children with chronic illnesses, done in support of Club Rainbow Singapore.  Interested parties can join our cause simply by:

1.  Personally Pledging and Donating $1/km they run

2.  Getting at least 2 friends/family members who are not running themselves to donate $1/km they run, to show their support of your cause and effort

Each of our runs are 5km in distance.

Our engagement runs are opportunities for the public to get active for a good cause, and you can volunteer to help ensure the runs are conducted smoothly!

Kickstart your own fundraising project for a common cause!

Have you ever wanted to raise funds for a cause but wasn’t sure how to? Miles for Good #5for500 hopes to empower the community to make a difference by initiating your own projects for a collective and bigger impact!

Join us! Be a Fire Starter!!

5-FOR-500 is a charity drive that encourages anybody from anywhere, to do anything to make a difference! The campaign encourages fellow youths from all walks of life to start their own fundraising projects for children with chronic illnesses. 

(Start a second-hand fashion sale, car wash, baking operation, birthday pledge; conduct a workshop, organise a fundraising run; sell paintings, handicrafts ... ...)

The key message of our campaign is that everyone can play a part to contribute to the community – start where you are, with what you have.  

To kickoff our 5 for 500 component of our charity campaign, we'll be have our very first Firestarter Session this coming Thursday at The Red Box! All are welcomed to attend!

We're hoping to have on board 20 teams of 5 members each, each team committed to raising just $500 by 31st May 2016, that will be donated directly to our beneficiary, Club Rainbow. Each team is collectively known as a "Firestarter", attributed to our objective of spreading the fire of giving and love, to create a greater impact together.

We'll like to invite you to join us in our movement to impact a great change in our community! The key message of our campaign is that everyone can play a part to contribute to their community – start where we are, with what we have. 

Will you join us as a Miles for Good - Graphic Designer

We’re reaching out to ask if you will like to join us in our movement in the following ways: 

  • Thinking creatively to produce new design concepts, ideas, graphics, layouts and developing interactive design;
  • Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
  • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
  • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for print;
  • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
  • Able to work as team and also independently handling multiple projects

*Campaign started on 20th March and will end by 5th June 2016.

 

The Miles for Good campaigns a ground-up, youth-led community service project, aiming to raise funds and awareness for children with chronic illnesses in the Singapore society. Our direct beneficiary is Club Rainbow Singapore, an independent non-profit organisation (NPO) providing compassionate services for chronically ill children, and all funds raised will be donated directly to them. 

Comprising 20 youth from diverse backgrounds, aged 17-32, we hope to create ripples of service in our community. Included in our team is also Singapore's Blade Runner, Shariff Abdullah.

Miles For Good aims to engage vibrant youths in social responsibility through two fundraising programmes:
A Miles for Good Run & a 5-For-500 Campaign.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
