Do you like interacting with the elderly? 

Are you keen to learn how to engage and communicate with the elderly through arts-based activities? 

Do you like to meet other youths that are like minded and have a common passion for the elderly? 

If YES, we warmly welcome you to our YOLDEN Arts family. (: 

 

As a Volunteer Befrienders, you will befriend and facilitate in arts-based activities through the programme. During the programme, you will be guided and equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to engage with the elderly. 

 

If it is your first time signing up for such a programme, and you enjoy interacting with the elderly, have a willing heart and spirit to learn more about the elderly and is passionate to serve, we welcome you to join us as well. (: 

 

Volunteer Befrienders are required to attend the following compulsory Orientation & Training sessions. Details as follows: 

  1. 24th August 2019: AIC Training, Orientation and Aging simulation by EXCO @ THK Hougang (9am to 4pm)

  2. 31st August 2019: AIC’s Sparks! Art for Wellness Toolkit @ THK Hougang (9am to 4pm)

 

The commitment for this regular service programme is at least 7 out of 10 sessions, for a period of 4 months from August 2019 to December 2019, in addition to the compulsory Orientation & Training sessions.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
