Logistic Crew (LC)

No event can run without it's logistics and the team that prepares them! As an LC, you will be involved in the setting up of key equipment and materials needed for the activities during the day's programme.

 

To better equip you with knowledge of the programme beforehand, there will be a compulsory O&T before the day itself :)

Volunteer Event Photographer (VEP)

Are you interested in capturing those heartfelt moments of interaction and the expressions of joy and gratitude of the seniors we serve? :)

If your answer to the question above is yes, then come join us as a VEP! As a VEP, you will also get to craft short captions to accompany the moments that you captured and these memories will then be shared on our YCS social media platforms. A briefing to prepare you for the day will be done before the start of the programme.

As an SMV, your task will be on the go – documenting and capturing every present. Using your own mobile device, you will have access to an event-ready YCS Instagram account to take and post photographs, short videos and IG stories with captions!

Volunteer Befriender (VB)

As a VB, you will be a buddy to a student from from Big Heart Student Care - our partner for this event - and accompany them on the whole trail.

 

You will also be entrusted with their learning experience, so do come expectant for the Orientation & Training to ensure that you are equipped with the necessary skills to engage with them! :)

Volunteer Coordinator (VC)

As a Volunteer Coordinator (VC), you will be empowered to create a positive volunteering experience for the Volunteer Befrienders (VBs). Leading a group of approximately 10 VBs with their beneficiaries, some of your responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing their movements during the activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, ensuring the smooth running and timely execution of the programme, as well as liaising with YCS staff for updates or assistance. VCs will also be involved in the learning and development of their VBs through various means taught to them when they attend the Volunteer Coordinator Track training.

If you are interested to join us as a VC for this event, please note that you will first need to attend a separate training under the Volunteer Coordinator Track. This training will equip you in the areas of volunteer management, group facilitation skills and risk assessment so that you are prepared to lead your team. Once trained, you will be allowed to sign up to be a VC for this event, subject to availability of positions.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
