As a volunteer befriender, you will be paired with a MYG member as a volunteer buddy to assist in cleaning up the beach at East Coast Park. There will also be activities for volunteer buddies and MYG members to learn more about the beach environment. The event will end off with a bonding session through fun activities and picnic!

As you open up your mind to learn more about intellectual disabilities, take this chance to understand more about PwIDs through the different activities, while also stepping up to contribute to keeping the beach environment clean and safe for our marine creatures at the beach of East Coast Park! 


Compulsory commitment required:

  • Orientation & Training: 15 March 2019 (Friday), 7:00pm - 10:00pm at The Red Box, and
  • Actual Event: 23 March 2019 (Saturday), 9:00am - 2:30pm at East Coast Park*

Volunteers are required to attend the Orientation & Training on 15 March 2019 (Friday), 7.00pm - 10:00pm at The Red Box (Compulsory).

*Note: Once volunteers come on board to this project, they can choose to take a catered bus from Jurong East MRT to East Coast Park, or make their own way straight to ECP. This can be further discussed during the O&T.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
