As a Youth Overall In-Charge, you are empowered to take charge of your team of volunteers. You will be an anchor to the whole event and ensure that things run smoothly before, during and after the event.

You are also required to brief your fellow team leaders on the event plan and ensure their full understanding of their roles.
You will also be in-charge of the briefing to the VCs andVBs, as well as ensuring proper grouping for beneficiaries and VBs.

Being a Youth Overall In-charge is a large responsibility to take on and it requires great commitment and leadership skills.

Volunteer Coordinator (VC)

As a VC, you are empowered to create a positive volunteering experience for the Volunteer Befrienders (VBs). You will be in-charge of leading your group of VBs and children to Chinatown Heritage Centre, sharing trivia about Chinatown’s heritage along the way. You will oversee the smooth running of the programme and ensure that your group moves between the different stations in a timely and orderly manner.

Station Master (SM)

As a SM, you are empowered to create a fun and enriching experience for the children who visit your station. You will be in-charge of developing your own script together with your fellow SM, roleplaying and sharing more about the history of your assigned station/character, and also conducting activities for the children back at Kreta Ayer CC.

Volunteer Event Photographer (VEP)

As a VEP, you will be involved in documenting the event and capturing the heartfelt moments. You will be required to craft short captions to accompany the photos which will be uploaded to YCS social media platforms. A briefing will be done on the event day before the start of the programme.

VEPs are highly recommended to be equipped with photography skills and preferably own a camera

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
