As a Volunteer Befriender, you get to buddy up with one of the children from our beneficiary organisation and be a friend to them during the trail to heritage sites. Their safety and well-being will be your priority. At Kreta Ayer CC, you will also be able to build friendships with them over lunch and engage them through the games.

Come ready to befriend the children on 30 June (Sat) from 8.30am to 2.30pm at Kreta Ayer CC!

Volunteer Coordinator

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you are empowered to create a positive volunteering experience for the Volunteer Befrienders (VBs). You will be in-charge of leading your group of VBs and children during the trail, sharing trivia about Chinatown’s heritage along the way. Also, you will oversee the smooth running of the programme and ensure that your group moves between the different stations in a timely and orderly manner.

VCs are required to attend the following:

  • Compulsory Orientation and Training on 23 June (Sat), 12noon to 7pm @ Kreta Ayer CC
  • Come prepared to lead your VBs on 30 June (Sat), 8am to 3pm @ Kreta Ayer CC

Station Master

As a Station Master (SM), you are empowered to create a positive and fun experience for the children who are at your designated activity station. On top of that, you will share about the history of your assigned landmark and conduct games for the children back at Kreta Ayer CC. Most importantly, do ensure that the beneficiaries actively participate in the activities and enjoy themselves!

SMs are required to attend the following:

  • Compulsory Orientation and Training on 23 June (Sat), 12noon to 7pm @ Kreta Ayer CC
  • Come prepared to lead your VBs on 30 June (Sat), 8am to 3pm @ Kreta Ayer CC

Volunteer Photographer

As a Volunteer Photographer, your role is to document the event and capture the heartfelt moments as we go about enjoying the trails with the children. These photographs will be used for different materials as part of our post-event updates and future publicity. A briefing will be done on the event day before the start of the programme.

Come equipped and ready with your cameras to click away on 30 June (Sat), 8.30am to 2.30pm @ Kreta Ayer CC

VPs are highly recommended to be equipped with photography skills and preferably own a camera.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
