Be part of our Logistics Crew (LC) at the Common Space for Common Good – A Walk to Remember this June 2018!

As an LC member, you are vital in supporting the overall operations of the event. You will take charge of the management of the heritage sites and assist Station Masters in the preparation of the venues. Without you, our soldiers have no armour or swords.

LC should:

Attend compulsory orientation and training on 9 June (Saturday, 10.30am- 6pm)

Training Venue: 113 Somerset Rd @ The Red Box

Come prepared to support the event operations on 13 June (Wednesday, 10am – 6.30pm)

Station Master (SM)

Experience being a Station Master (SM) at the Common Space for Common Good – A Walk to Remember this November!

As an SM, you get to bring life a character that represents the Singapore story and lead in exciting station activities with children! Costumes and scripts will be provided. So, put your acting cap on and come join us!

SMs should:

Calling for youths with a passion for children!

Experience being a Volunteer Befriender (VB) at the Common Space for Common Good – A Walk to Remember this November!

As a VB, you get to buddy with children with diverse family backgrounds and be an older brother or sister to them. You’ll also experience the Jubilee Walk together and play the role of a tour guide as you visit iconic locations which constitute the past, present and future elements of the Singapore story.

VBs should:

Volunteer Photographer (VP)

We need YOU to help us document this important day for the Children of Big Heart Student Centre. Make them the star of the day!

As a VP member, your role is to take photos of different parts of the event as we go about enjoying the trails with the children. The photographs will be used for different materials as part of our post-event updates and future publicity.

VPs should:

Come equipped and ready with your cameras to click away on 13 Jun (Wednesday, 11am – 6pm)

VPs are highly recommended to be equipped with photography skills and preferably own a camera

Youth Overall In-charge

As a Youth Overall In-Charge, you are empowered to take charge of your trail team that consists of 3 VCs, 2 VPs and 15 VBs.
Each YOIC recruited will be assigned to one of the 2 trails: Past & Future.
You will be an anchor to the whole event and ensure that things run smoothly before, during and after the event at your respective locations.

You are also required to brief your fellow team leaders on the event plan and ensure their full understanding of their roles.
You will also be in-charge of the briefing to the VBs, as well as ensuring proper grouping for beneficiaries and VBs.

Being a Youth Overall In-charge is a large responsibility to take on and it requires great commitment and leadership skills.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
