Volunteer Befriender

As a Volunteer Befriender (VB), your roles and responsibilities include:

  • Befriending and be a positive role model for your buddy
  • Encourage and affirm your buddy 
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of your buddy

In terms of commitment, you will be required to be present for all of the sessions listed below. 

  • The compulsory Orientation and Training will be held at The Red Box, 113 Somerset Road, Singapore 238165.
  • The reporting location for both the Pre-Engagement Session and Actual Event will be at Bendemeer Primary School, 91 Bendemeer Road, Singapore 339948.

Volunteer Coordinator

This opportunity is open to volunteers aged 18 and above.

As a Volunteer Coordinator (VC), your roles and responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of up to 10 persons, comprising 5 Volunteer Befrienders and 5 children
  • Conduct ice breakers, activities and debriefs
  • Facilitate positive interaction between Volunteer Befrienders and children
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of team members

In terms of commitment, you will be required to be present for all of the sessions listed below. 

  • The compulsory Orientation and Training will be held at The Red Box, 113 Somerset Road, Singapore 238165.

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
