Energy For Cambodia

Team One Clap's project aimed to reach out to families in Koh Phdao Village, Cambodia, by co-sponsoring and installing solar panel systems for the households. Old car batteries were given to selected families who did not own a car battery as a source of electricity for them. In addition, the team provided educational infographic posters to all families with solar panels as well as on-site training for them. This instilled a sense of ownership and responsibility of the panels in the household by educating them the proper usage and simple maintenance of the solar panel system.

Water for Cambodia!

Team WASH aimed to educate the residents of Sre Chea Commune on the importance of clean and safe water consumption and proper maintenance of the Rainwater Harvesting System (RWHS). The team also hoped to install the RWHS in poor households with limited resources to collect the rainwater. Through their research and recce trip, the team concluded that the residents' main sources of water were from rain, ponds and wells. Thus, their project emphasised on getting the residents to have not just clean drinking water but safe drinking water, by educating them on the importance of treating water before consumption.
