Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH)

Our Projects

Project Starlight

The project's objective is to improve mental health wellness clients of Bukit Gombak Group Home (BGGH) and provide long term support for the clients. Through needs analysis done by team Ragnarok, they have found out that in order to maintain and improve mental well-being of the clients, two key areas need to be addressed; the communication within and between units in BGGH, and the need for clients to upgrade skills to remain employable within society.

This project is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s Leaders Programme.

Project YOLO (Youths Overcoming Limits & Obstacles)

Mental Health has been a sensitive topic amongst the general public due to increasing social stigmatization and lack of awareness. Together with Singapore Association of Mental Health (SAMH), Suisen 1 team is working together with YouthReach clients and caseworkers to develop a 'Group Work' program. This program would consist of fun, engaging and interactive activities to impart soft skills for the clients who are preparing for their transition back to the society. Through this program, the team's aim is to make it sustainable whereby YouthReach caseworkers can tailor the sessions according to their client's needs at any point in time.

This project is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s Leaders Programme.

Team Leggo: Project 'Out & Go'

Through Project 'Out & Go', Team Leggo aims to promote inclusivity and mental wellness amongst young adults through outdoor sports and activities. The project also has the potential to entice and encourage participants to step out of their houses and use outdoor activities as a means to promote mental wellness.

Young adults (22-45 years old), regardless of their mental health status, are the intended beneficiaries. They will be given the opportunity to utilize the outdoors as a means to cope with stress, as well as to experience the potential benefits of being outdoors, on their mental well-being.

Team Leggo is seeking volunteers who:
(a) enjoy venturing outdoors,
(b) are open to meeting young adults from diverse backgrounds, and
(c) are at least 18 years old,
