WE ARE BACK AGAIN!!!!

Love playing with Children? Do you enjoy themed Treasure Hunts? Welcome to Ahoy Captain! ROUND 5 !!.

The School Holidays will be coming sooner than you think! What better way than to spend your time forging wonderful memories and friendship with the children from Big Heart Student Care at "Ahoy Captain!"?!

"Ahoy Captain!" was created with 'fun' being the fundamental value of the event, and building strong friendships and lasting memories through the fun we'll be having! This is a Treasure Hunt event with a Pirate theme, which will push not only volunteers to work together with the children but even cooperative activities with other teams!

This also provides youths the opportunity to play the role of a ‘big brother/sister’ to children from Big Heart Student Care. Big Heart Student Care children are from a student care centre that aims to provides holistic care for children aged 7 to 12 years old.

The care centre caters to pupils from diverse backgrounds and hope to better support the development of pupils, especially those who are unprivileged. These children will have the opportunity to deepen their appreciation of Singapore’s multi-cultural diversity and the unique contribution of the Indian community to Singapore, from past to present.

Youth Corps Service Week 2019: A Walk Around Little India

“It is important that our heritage is presented to all parts of society... Many of them (volunteers) are very passionate about our heritage, and they would also like to do something for the society, to care for someone else.” - Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Building upon the successful runs of ‘Creative Hands, Curious Minds’ during Youth Corps Service Week 2018, Youth Corps Singapore is partnering the National Heritage Board (NHB) to showcase Singapore’s multicultural diversity to students, through engaging activities at a gallery tour around the Indian Heritage Centre, and an experiential walking trail to explore the rich diversity of heritage sites around Little India.

This event is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s Youth Corps Service Week 2019.

A Walk To Remember - Bicentennial Edition

“It is important that our heritage is presented to all parts of society... Many of them (volunteers) are very passionate about our heritage, and they would also like to do something for the society, to care for someone else.” - Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Bringing together heritage and youth volunteerism, Youth Corps Singapore is partnering the National Heritage Board (NHB) in creating the eighth run of the ‘A Walk to Remember’ event to provide youths the opportunity to play the role of a ‘big brother/sister’ to children from Big Heart Student Care.

‘A Walk to Remember’, part of NHB’s ‘Jubilee Walk’ trail launched in 2015, is an eight-kilometre long trail that features Singapore’s historical landmarks and sites such as the National Museum of Singapore and National Gallery Singapore, and highlights how Singaporeans have survived and prospered despite many challenges. As we commemorate Singapore Bicentennial with the 200th anniversary of Raffles’ landing in Singapore, we would be having a special edition of a Walk to Remember this run, featuring the visit to the Main Show “Time Traveller” at Fort Canning Park.

Big Heart Student Care children are from a student care centre that aims to provides holistic care for children aged 7 to 12 years old. The care centre caters to pupils from diverse backgrounds and hope to better support the development of pupils especially those who are unprivileged.

This event is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s ‘Common Space for Common Good’ signature initiative.
