Our Projects

Happy Club @ Telok Blangah Heights/Drive

Project Happy Club @ Telok Blangah Heights/Drive aims to encourage mobile seniors above 50 years old, to adopt an active lifestyle for the people they love through a social movement. The theme of the social movement will be ‘fits(old)’, a play on the word ‘fitspo’ that is colloquially meant to show strong and fit men and women.

Our movement comprises of:

  1. A tailored exercise programme for the seniors with 2 key milestones over the 12 weeks to encourage them to adopt an active lifestyle

  2. An exhibition and video campaign to galvanise the community and provide encouragement to the seniors

This project is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s Leaders Programme.

Amazing Heartland Race

Who says that amazing races are a thing for the young? We work to challenge that notion and change the society’s mindset – seniors too are able to have fun and take part in a variant of amazing races! The idea of the Amazing Heartland Race is to knit the community closer together by bringing forth the concept of linkages. Despite living in separate blocks, this event aims to convey the message to the elderly that they live in the same community, and as neighbours they can help and look out for one another.

Join us in engaging and interacting with the elderly at Telok Blangah Drive to bring joy and meaning to the event. Get ready to be blown away by what you will learn about seniors through working together with them as you work through the creative games in the Amazing Heartland Race. Wait no longer and sign up today!

This event is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s ‘Common Space for Common Good’ signature initiative.

Befriender's Arts Toolkit

Bringing together arts and youth volunteerism, Youth Corps Singapore is partnering the National Arts Council in creating an opportunity for volunteers to reach out and bring the arts to seniors in the Marine Parade Area.

The Befriender's Arts Toolkit is a resource that provides volunteer befrienders with simple art-based activity ideas that can be used as part of their befriending home visits. Developed by artists/arts practitioners, the Tookit provides comprehensive step-by-step instructions, conversation tips and materials required to get started. The great thing is that these activities do not require volunteers to have prior training or background in the arts and anyone can use them!

The Tookit is intended to

  1. Leverage volunteers to bring arts experiences to the underserved

  2. Use the arts experience to stimulate conversations and social interaction, enriching the befriending process

If you are interested in interacting with the seniors, especially through the medium of art, join us in bringing out the creative side of seniors!

This event is part of Youth Corps Singapore’s ‘Common Space for Common Good’ signature initiative.
